It has been a gift.”

Bill has been the president of The Pachamama Alliance since 1996. Prior to The Pachamama Alliance, Bill had an extensive background in business having worked in the management consulting, equipment leasing and financial services industries since 1970. Berhan Eyasu

Finance Manager

Berhan is accountable for all aspects of financial management at The Pachamama Alliance. She is working on embedding sustainability in the financial statements, setting up efficient electronic systems, and strengthening the financial accountability within the organization.

“Growing up in a developing country, I watched disadvantaged individuals live their lives without the means to preserve their natural resources and cultures. I strongly agree with the importance of Pachamama’s mission to empower indigenous people to preserve their lands and cultures and, using insights gained from that work, to educate and inspire individuals everywhere to bring forth a thriving, just and sustainable world. My inner desire to help those individuals encourages my work with The Pachamama Alliance.”

Berhan comes to Pachamama Alliance with over eight years of experience in accounting, finance and administration. She has worked in several accounting, finance and administrative positions as well as having her own IT consulting business in her home country of Ethiopia. After moving to the US in December 2008, she has been working at various for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. She enjoys working with Pachamama Alliance, an organization that shares her dream of helping to empower individuals. Jessica Kwan

Finance Administrative Assistant

Jessica assists the finance, operations and volunteer managers with administrative tasks such as keeping records of incoming donations, data entry and organizing filing systems.

“As someone with a background in biology, I came to believe in the utmost importance of hardcore science. Underlying all those textbook facts and statistics, though, I still believed that despite the significance that science plays, community involvement was key to environmental sustainability. The Pachamama Alliance’s dedication to a better world through empowering the indigenous people strikes the core of my philosophy. I thought Pachamama was a true example that other environmental organizations should follow, and I’m proud to be on a team that is committed to a healthier and more respectful relationship with nature.”

Jessica received a BS in Biology from UC Davis, and then a Masters in Conservation from University College London. She has had a variety of work experience from researching insects to providing proofreading services at a tutoring company. Prior to becoming the administrative assistant, she was an intern in Development. In her spare time, Jessica does illustrations, and also enjoys film and theatre, art and reading.
