Thich Nhat Hanh on the Illusion of Separateness
October 13th, 2012

This quote from Thich Nhat Hanh, a prominent Zen master, poet, and activist, echoes one of our fundamental guiding principles at The Pachamama Alliance:
Human beings are not separate from each other or Nature. We are totally interrelated and our actions have consequences to all. What we do to others we do to ourselves. What we do to the Earth we do to ourselves.
Indigenous cultures continue to live this truth to this day, as they have done for generations. This living knowledge is profoundly important for a just, thriving planet and is one of the many reasons why we work to preserve and sustain the indigenous way of life, and to inspire others to do the same.
