Directions from beyond San Francisco

From The Peninsula:
Take Hwy 380 West
To 280 North to San Francisco
Follow signs for 19th Ave / Park Presidio Blvd
From Park Presidio Blvd, make a right on California
Then a left onto Arguello
Enter the Presidio at Arguello and Jackson Street
Stay to the left
Arguello ends at Moraga
Take a right onto Moraga
Take a left onto Graham
At the stop sign make a right on to Lincoln Blvd
Pass Funston Street on your right hand side and the gymnasium
Make your next possible left onto Girard Rd
Follow this road (it will curve to the right) until you come to a large parking lot on the right
You may park in this lot
We are located in Building #1009 of the Thoreau Center
Building #1009 is on the east side of the parking lot
Look for the sign that lists the United Religions Initiative Office
Enter through the glass door and walk to the end of the breezeway
Take a right at the end of the breezeway and enter the United Religions Initiative office
Once in the door we are located at the end of the hallway to your left

From The North Bay:
From the Golden Gate Bridge be in the far right lane at the toll plaza
From the toll plaza take the very first and immediate right turn onto Merchant
Merchant ends at Lincoln blvd
Left onto Lincoln blvd
Right onto Sheridan
Follow Sheridan until you get to Graham
Make a left onto Graham
At stop sign make a right on to Lincoln blvd
Pass Funston Street on your right hand side and the gymnasium
Make your next possible left onto Girard
Follow this road (it will curve to the right) until you come to a large parking lot on the right
You may park in this lot
We are located in Building #1009 of the Thoreau Center
Building #1009 is on the east side of the parking lot
Look for the sign that lists the United Religions Initiative Office
Enter through the glass door and walk to the end of the breezeway
Take a right at the end of the breezeway and enter the United Religions Initiative office
Once in the door we are located at the end of the hallway to your left

Directions from within San Francisco

Public Transportation
The Presidio is accessible by MUNI (673-6864)
Bus routes 41, 45, 82X, and 30 (from downtown SF/Market Street )
Bus routes 28, 29, and 43 (from other points in the city)
Only the 29 and 43 serve the Thoreau Center/Letterman Hospital stops directly
Others require a 5-10 minute walk from near the Lombard Street Presidio Gate

From the North Bay:
Several Golden Gate Transit (923-2000) buses also stop near the Lombard Gate
If you are taking the 29 or 43, get off at the Letterman Hospital stop (the bus drive can call out your stop for you)
You will see the Thoreau Center (a series of white buildings with red rooftops)
There are two pedestrian paths (one on the right and one on the left)
Use the left pedestrian path
Go past the first building on your left
We are located at the second building
Make a left and walk down the walk way until you get to the entrance
Enter through the glass door and walk to the end of the breezeway
Take a right at the end of the breezeway and enter the United Religions Initiative office
Once in the door we are located at the end of the hallway to your left

From Arguello Blvd Gate:
Enter The Presidio at Arguello Blvd and Jackson Street
Stay to the left
Arguello ends at Moraga
Take a right onto Moraga
Take a left onto Graham
At the stop sign make a right on to Lincoln Blvd
Pass Funston Street on your right hand side and the gymnasium
Make your next possible left onto Girard
Follow this road (it will curve to the right) until you come to a large parking lot on the right

From Lombard Street Gate:
Enter the Presidio at Lombard and Lyon Streets
At the first and only 3-way stop sign, turn right onto Presidio Blvd
Continue on Presidio Blvd
You will pass the Thoreau Center for Sustainability, Building #1016, on your right
After you pass the building make your next immediate right onto Girard
Follow this road (it will curve to the right) until you come to a large parking lot on the right
You may park in this lot
We are located in Building #1009 of the Thoreau Center
Building #1009 is on the east side of the parking lot
Look for the sign that lists the United Religions Initiative Office
Enter through the glass door and walk to the end of the breezeway
Take a right at the end of the breezeway and enter the United Religions Initiative office
Once in the door we are located at the end of the hallway to your left

From Presidio Avenue Gate:
Enter the Presidio at Presidio Ave and Pacific Ave
Once in the Presidio, continue down the hill past the Lombard Street intersection
At the next major intersection, Presidio Blvd curves to the left but do not turn left
Continue straight through the intersection
The streets change names at this point, you are now on Lincoln Blvd
Turn right at the second street onto Girard Rd
Follow this road (it will curve to the right) until you come to a large parking lot on the right
You may park in this lot
We are located in Building #1009 of the Thoreau Center
Building #1009 is on the east side of the parking lot
Look for the sign that lists the United Religions Initiative Office
Enter through the glass door and walk to the end of the breezeway
Take a right at the end of the breezeway and enter the United Religions Initiative office
Once in the door we are located at the end of the hallway to your left

From Marina Blvd/Bay Street:
Enter the park at Marina Blvd
Stay in the right lane
Do not go left onto Doyle DriveAt Doyle Drive, slightly veer to the right through the Crissy Field gates
Onto Mason Street
Go left at the first stop sign onto Halleck Street
Halleck ends at Lincoln Blvd
Turn left onto Lincoln blvd
Pass Funston Street on your right hand side and the gymnasium
Make your next possible left onto Girard
Follow this road (it will curve to the right) until you come to a large parking lot on the right
