Last month, indigenous leaders from across Ecuador’s Amazon region gathered for a workshop on the latest developments in indigenous rights globally, which included the recent Sarayaku ruling, and inspired them to issue a manifesto on indigenous rights to prior consultation.

These past months have seen tremendous success in the spread of The Pachamama Alliance message and workshops around the world, linking places as diverse as Ireland, Barbados, Australia, the Phillipines, and India with the Achuar vision for a just, fulfilling, and sustainable world.

Fundación Pachamama’s Solar Transportation Project for the Achuar people in Ecuador and Peru is one of seven winners of a regional contest to promote innovative and replicable renewable energy projects. With the awarded funds, the Achuar will build the first solar-powered public transportation system in the Amazon basin.
