Former President of Fundación Pachamama and environmental leader, Belén Páez and Pachamama Alliance’s International Programs Manager will join us live from Paris to share news and stories from the Conference of the Parties, COP21. Join this call to be inspired by and learn about the international community efforts to bring about real change in protecting our planet.

COP 21

192 nations that are party to the Kyoto Protocol will gather in Paris and are expected to adopt a universal climate agreement with clear commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Learn more about this meeting.

About Belén Páez


María Belén Páez is the former president of Pachamama Alliance’s sister organization in Ecuador, Fundación Pachamama. She is an ecologist and environmental leader who has devoted 18 years of her life to the conservation of the Amazon rainforest and the protection of the rights of indigenous peoples in the Andean Amazon region of Ecuador. During her 15 years as Director and President of Fundación Pachamama, she has received several awards and has participated in discussions with UNCCC, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change advocating for good governance of the Amazon rainforest and respect for the rights of indigenous peoples. Belén has also dedicated herself to strengthening the civil society in Ecuador and Peru, focused on environmental sustainability and social justice, and has contributed to the discussion and creation of public policy for the activation of a new post-oil economic model in Ecuador.
