Awakening The Dreamer, Changing the Dream is a program of The Pachamama Alliance, whose mission is to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence on planet Earth.
Our principal activity is the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium. This 3-4 hour experience incorporates multimedia presentations and dynamic group activities to support participants’ desire to wake up to the state of our world, and to become grounded in optimism and in action. Symposium administration and development is held by a small team in San Francisco, but expands through the activities of volunteers around the world; symposiums have been held in 60 countries in 7 languages since its launch in 2005, by our over 3,500 Facilitators trained to deliver the program.
Position Summary:
The purpose of this Internship is to support our staff to maintain effective administrative and program support for the Awakening the Dreamer Initiative. You will be supporting outreach and expansion of the program in numerous ways, and reporting to the Program Director. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire experience in putting your computer, administrative and communication skills to work supporting a global program and gaining satisfaction from seeing its expansion. This expansion is our organizational priority for 2012.
Required Skills:
In order to apply successfully, please be proficient in basic software applications on MAC OS such as Excel and Word, using email, and have excellent communication skills. In this position you will learn or improve upon your skills in database management, social media, and best practices in non-profit administration. Your aptitudes should include: detail oriented; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; highly organized and thrives in a multi-tasking environment; team player; well rounded and flexible; takes great satisfaction in accomplishing results. Acceptance for this Internship will require you to work in our office in The Presidio, San Francisco, CA. We request a commitment of 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months.
