As a Facilitator, I am Committed to

  • Symposium Presenter
  • Symposium Host
  • Symposium Producer

I believe we have a duty to leave this planet in a better condition than we found it in or find it in now. This involves TEACHING - adults and children - that we are all connected and what we do to eachother and to the earth and all plants and animals - we do to ourselves. A large part of this teaching is rooted in remembering self-love and respect - and offering the same love and respect to others.

I have recently begun teaching an after school gardening program to 6th and 7th graders at a school that serves a mostly minority and low income population. It is my joy to spark a love of gardening in these kids - teaching them how to grow food and care for the earth and their surroundings...thereby caring for themselves.

As for adults, I continue to be involved in presenting the ATD symposium - whether an all day affair for 75 people or a 3 hour living room symposium. Everything we do matters.

I've been a Facilitator since 2007. I have delivered 1 events with a total of 23 attendees.

Why I'm a Pachamama Alliance Facilitator

I am a facilitator because "someone has to do it" so why not me? I have been a facilitator for 8 years. Some years have been quiet - with only a couple of symposiums, and others more active. No matter what, EVERY time I am involved in presenting a symposium I get a new insight that I had not noticed before. My appreciation for this material grows deeper each time I see it.

Events I've hosted as a facilitator:

  • I hosted a Symposium in Houston on November 14, 2015

If I could change the world

To end public money going to support the military-industrial monster! If this happened, think of how much could be used to really help people - all kinds of wonderful things like ending mass incarceration, mental health care, homeless populations reduced, education - real education on the stuff of LIFE instead of rote memorizing 'facts' for tests...the list is endless!

This is who inspires me

Wow - only 1 person?! So many people inspire me! My mother who is the living embodiment of kindness and selflessness; my dad who never met a stranger and can make anyone at ease in a conversation; my siblings who have all 'turned out well in spite of ourselves' (LOL!); my friend Sheila who's passion and activist personality keep me on track with the ATD work; the local farmers and ranchers who are there every week at our farmers market, rain or shine, and their diligent never-ending work to bring wholesome real food to us; all the activists and peacemakers who have made great sacrifices, even the ultimate sacrifice, to further a noble cause. We are all in this together and I am inspired every day by the hope and possibilities I see in all the faces I meet.

Experiences I'm proud of

Creating a sanctuary of calm in the middle of the 'Energy Corridor' in Houston Texas. Although we are selling the property, it will now be cared for by a religious organization who will retain community ties and involvement. We have had many wonderful spiritual and healing events, ceremonies, celebrations and miracles at our little place called Green Planet Sanctuary. I plan to carry this on in a new larger location in a rurual retreat setting. This will be my next 'proud accomplishment'.

What I'm passionate about

My life long search to better myself and find that 'God-connection' with others keeps me going. The moment I gaze into the eyes of a new friend or watch an 'aha' moment with children learning gives me a sense of purpose and feeling of accomplishment and connection that cannot be described here. It's the juice that keeps me going!
