I've been a Facilitator since 2014. I have delivered 5 events with a total of 162 attendees.
I am a Catholic priest working full time with Eco Learning Camp Foundation (www.ecolearningcamp.org), an inter faith non government organization in Bandung, Indonesia, in the field of environmentally based values education. I am a member of The Climate Reality Project led by Hon. Al Gore and attended 3 trainings for presenter in Melbourne (2009), Nashville (2010), and Jakarta (2011). I finished my bachelor degree in Philosophy and Theology from Parahyangan Catholic University in Bandung in 1989. Then I went to East Asia Pastoral Institute at Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines for my MA degree in Pastoral Studies in 1998. Lastly, I graduated from Indonesian University of Education in Bandung in 2012 with a doctorate degree in values education. In Eco Camp in Bandung I and my colleagues provide diverse programs in environmentally based values education for children, teachers, and adults. Our programs have three pilars : nature, culture, and science. Our three values to integrity are spirit of sharing, respect, and responsibility. Pachamama Symposium is one of our main program at Eco Camp because it really helps people to make a strong commitment to care and to learn from our Mother Earth.
Why I'm a Pachamama Alliance Facilitator
One last inspiring experience as a facilitator was in Weetebula, Sumba Island, Indonesia 2-8 June 2015 with 33 ADM Sisters. The one week experience is very meaningful for all sisters. Pachamama symposium is integrated in the whole process of the retreat. At the end of the retreat, they really make a strong commitment to be green leaders for their people. I belive the sisters will bring significant changes in Sumba Island and Timor island including Timor Leste where the sisters are working.
Events I've hosted as a facilitator:
- I hosted a Symposium in on June 18, 2015
- I hosted a Symposium in on June 2, 2015
- I hosted a Symposium in Bandung on March 7, 2015
- I hosted a Symposium in on February 15, 2015
- I hosted a Symposium in on January 13, 2015
If I could change the world
If I could change one thing in the world it would be to allow more children, young people, and young teachers to experience Pachamama Symposium and after that make a strong commitment to care and to learn from our Mother Earth.
This is who inspires me
The persons who inspires me are Al Gore and Sr. Elly Verrijt MMS. They show their commitment to care for the earth and to teach other people to do so.
