We at The Pachamama Alliance and Generation Waking Up (Gen Up) are working with the Move to Amend to make a special Gen Up Workshop with them in Oakland, California. The Gen Up Workshop is a youth version of The Pachamama Alliance’s flagship Awakening the Dreamer Symposium, focused on changing the dream of the modern world to a more environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling one. The Move to Amend was founded in 2009 and is focused on amending the U.S. Constitution to state that inalienable rights belong to people, not corporations, and money is not a form of free speech, so it should be regulated in political campaigns.

The Move to Amend is a “coalition of hundreds of organizations and tens of thousands of individuals committed to social and economic justice, ending corporate rule, and building a vibrant democracy that is truly accountable to the people, not corporate interests. It is essentially rejecting the Citizen’s United, which ruled on January 21, 2010 that corporations have the same rights as citizens.

Our friends at The Story of Stuff is hosting a contest based on their latest video, The Story of Change, asking people how they can be the positive change they wish to see. Winners will be featured on their website, get help from the Story of Stuff Project, and may even be featured in one of their podcasts or videos. Vote now for the Move to Amend!
