Who We Are and What We Do

We are a newly forming Pachamama Alliance Community based in SW Florida including Lee, Charlote and Collier Counties. We envision a growing community of Pro-activisats in SW Florida. We have come together at a time of great turmoil and opportunity for deep systemic change.  We hope to be of service to people looking for a way to plug into a local network of likeminded people who are globally connected to work as allies for social and environmental justice.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build a community of conscious pro-activists who want to work together for an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence.  We support the Mission of the Pachamama Alliance to empower indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest to preserve their lands and culture and, using insights gained from that work, to educate and inspire individuals everywhere to bring forth a thriving, just and sustainable world.

The Areas This Community Includes

We are reaching out to the people and organizations of SW Florida who want to work together for a sustainable, just and spiritually fulfilling peaceful world. lee, Collioer and Charlotte Counties.

Our Community Story

We began in the summer of 2016 by inviting 12 people in our region to take the Game Changer Intensive at the same time.

We then, with the help of Cher Tanner - Pachamama Alliance Community of Tampa Bay Area, helped us produce our first Awakening The Dreamer Symposium in Lee County on Oct 29, 2016 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers. After that our core group came together and hosted a community pot luck and a Citizens Climate Lobby Group Start for Lee and Collier Counties.  Then our newly formed core group produced and led our first Symposium on March 4 2017 at the Lamb of God Church and Community in Fort Myers. It was well attended by 43 people from a span of 3 generations.

The core group has been meeting regularly and we hope to be able to offer events and speakers in the coming year.  Our next Symposium with be on the Florida Gulf Coast University campus.

Our Community Activities

Our core group meets at least once a month - the third Thursday of each month at the Happehatchee Eco-Center in Estero, FL. When planning a Symposium we meet once a week. The day may change.  We offer community pot lucks and hope to begin to host these at our different venues at least every few months.

We are grateful for the support of our sister Pacamama Alliance Community in Tampa Bay and are also eager to participate with Pachamama groups and members around the State of Florida, in the United States, and Worldwide to "affect the kinds of changes that keep us moving toward this new dream for humanity.  We invite you to join us by becoming a jewel in Indra’s Net of cosmic connection."

Additional Information

Our purpose is to organize and deliver Symposiums in various venues in SW Florida and to support people to become pro-activists for our Pachamama.  We hope to form local partnerships with existing and emerging groups and explore the most effective actions that will positively impact on our social, environmental and political systems and structures locally, nationally and globally.  We helped organize a Citizen's Climate Lobby Start-Up for both Lee and Collier counties and hope to stay closely connected.  We also promote Move to Amend in all of our events and communications. We support the Earth Charter.  and want to include it in our conversation that is evolving among many progressive movements.
