Who We Are and What We Do

We are a vibrant community of Pachamama Facilitators in the South Bay, from as far South as Carmel to as far North as Pacifica, with the majority in the Santa Cruz and San Jose area.

We meet monthly as a community group to connect, inspire each other, develop and manage events, Symposiums, Workshops, Trainings, Study Groups, etc...

If you are inspired by the work of the Pachamama Alliance, and want to participate and contribute to it, we'd love to have you join our community!

Our Mission

Our community is aligned with the mission and goals of The Pachamama Alliance:

The Areas This Community Includes

Most of our South Bay Pachamama Community members are from the Santa Cruz and San Jose areas, but include people from the Peninsula: Pacifica, San Mateo, Belmont, Woodside, Palo Alto, and also from the Monterey Carmel area and Pleasanton area.

Our Community Story

This community began with Cecily Cahill presenting a Symposium in Santa Cruz.  In 2007 Cecily, Polly, Adriana and two other women presented a day long Symposium in San Leandro, and they continued to meet as a group in San Jose and in Ben Lomond where Cecily and Polly live.

Our Community Activities

We meet as a community on a monthly basis, starting with a potluck, and followed by a meeting. Each meeting is led by a team of usually 3 people, and is focused on a theme chosen in advance when we establish our yearly calendar. We vary the location, meeting at each other's homes.  Every three months the meeting takes place in the San Jose area to make it easier for everyone to participate.

These meetings are the main vehicle for us to stay in touch with each other, inspire and support each other, create events, and report on the sub-groups activities with Game Changing Initiatives, and members engagements with the community in issues of Climate Change, Racism and Social Justice.
