One thing seems certain in the work of bringing forth a new human presence on Earth; no one organization is going to pull this off on their own.  This is a time for alliances and partnerships; this will be the era of collaboration and co-creation, not of solo efforts and individual achievements.

As we have learned from Blessed Unrest, Paul Hawken’s new book, there are now millions of organizations around the world working for the shared aim of social justice, environmental sustainability and spiritual fulfillment.  So it will be no surprise to learn that this is one of the Pachamama Alliance’s key strategies.

The Awakening the Dreamer Initiative has spread to Australia and the UK through two solid alliances with two different organizations, both called Be the Change. We are excited about our continued work with the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, with whom we can work to craft messages that will benefit their constituency.   We are currently collaborating to offer the format of the Symposium as a model in which to educate the public about their groundbreaking initiative, Green For All.  This ambitious campaign aims to bring green-collar jobs to 250,000 people, simultaneously lifting them out of poverty.  We are also developing relationships with groups as diverse as Code Pink, the Sierra Club and Unity Church to make the Symposium available to their network of members.

In one of the potentially most exciting collaborations of all, we are partnering with WiserEarth, Paul Hawken’s inspired group who have created the online infrastructure for everyone involved in the Great Turning to meet and work together.  Perhaps this is the forum in which concerned people will begin to gather in ever-greater numbers, each adding a voice for justice, for peace, for sustainability, quickly becoming a clamor for change and in time, the critical mass which will usher in a new human presence.

To further the work of the Initiative we ask you to help us in these efforts.  Are there organizations that you know of, or are involved in, which you feel could be important allies for the Awakening the Dreamer Initiative?  Organizations on the national or even global scale that you believe we should be talking to?  Mark Dubois is the staff member charged with developing these relationships, and he’d love to hear from you, at mdubois@igc.org or at 206 780 1022. To a new year of working together!
